Many years ago I used to be able to put my pork chops in the oven and when I took them out they would be lovely and brown, crispy and cooked just right. Now it seems that I have lost the touch because whatever way I try to cook my chops they are just not right ! What am I doing wrong ? I just want a nicely cooked brown, crispy fat, Chop. Is that too much to ask ? Any help with my problem would be appreciated. BigGrin

Hi John

Pork is a difficult thing to get right. On the one hand you don't want to under cook it as this is dangerous and if it is over cooked it isn't nice. I would suggest that when they are just ready in the oven you then put them under a hot grill for a minute each side and they should crisp up, or turn the oven up to very high for the last couple of minutes of cooking. Let me know how you get on with them.

hi john,i blame the meat now as too much water in it,cheapskates, i invested in the tesco version of george forman grill machine about £14 then,i use a little amount light and mild olive oil on both side of all meats and grill in machine lovely flavours when cooked( and easy cleaned), i used to put things under the grill or oven cook but not always able to hold onto the trays, dog was well fed though, very annoying not getting it just right, lets know how you manage, happy cooking, dorothy

Thank you both for your suggestions. Will try the grill first, because we have one ! and may try the george foreman if unsuccessful.

Hello John

Yes pork can be difficult to get just right. However, I also buy my meat for local proper Butcher and am
always ok with that. Proper meat. I would put them in pre heated oven for 1 hour (electric fan 185)

Good luck
